Pregnancy & Prenatal Comfort

AMCATON Pregnancy Pillow

Evidence shows using a full-body pillow can reduce back, hip, and pelvic pressure during pregnancy. Most people start around 20 weeks, but honestly, no matter how early you grab one, your body will thank you. I started using mine around that time, and it made a huge difference for my sleep and overall comfort as my belly grew.

AMCATON Pregnancy Pillow

Mama Natural Pregnancy Affirmation Cards

Evidence shows that mindfulness-based practices during pregnancy can reduce stress, anxiety, and improve emotional well-being. I used these cards throughout my own journey; they helped me stay centered, informed, and calm when things felt overwhelming. Whether you pull one for daily insight or use them as part of your prenatal preparation, they’re a small tool that can make this time feel more grounded and supportive.

Pregnancy Affirmation Cards

BABYGO Pregnancy/Birth Ball

Evidence shows that using a pregnancy/birth ball can help ease back, hip, and pelvic discomfort, improve posture, and support gentle movement throughout pregnancy, as well as comfort and mobility during labor. I personally used one throughout my entire pregnancy to stay active, relieve pressure, and practice positions that made labor easier. It’s a simple, practical tool that helps your body adapt to pregnancy changes while preparing you for birth. (Bonus is that it’s great to use postpartum for yourself and baby!)

BABYGO Pregnancy/Birth Ball

NeoTech Care Pregnancy Belly Band

Evidence shows that maternity support garments like belly bands can help ease pregnancy‑related pressure on your lower back, hips, and pelvis by offering gentle support and stability as your body changes. I used one during my own pregnancy when the weight of my belly started pulling on my back and it genuinely helped take some of the strain off so I could stay active and move more comfortably.

Garden of Life Organics Prenatal Vitamin

Evidence shows that taking a prenatal multivitamin with key nutrients like folate, iron, and vitamin D before and during pregnancy helps your body support healthy fetal development, reduce the risk of neural tube defects, prevent maternal anemia, and support overall maternal health.

I personally took a whole-food, organic prenatal (when I could) and evidence also shows that nutrients in whole-food-based supplements can sometimes be gentler on the stomach and may be easier for the body to absorb than isolated synthetic vitamins. It felt reassuring to me to get my nutrients from real, organic foods while covering the essential vitamins and minerals my body needed.

Liquid I.V.® Hydration Multiplier

Evidence shows that staying hydrated during pregnancy is especially important because your blood volume increases significantly, and proper fluids and electrolytes help support fluid balance and prevent issues like headaches and low amniotic fluid. When I was dealing with HG and struggled to keep fluids down, adding this to water helped make hydration easier and more palatable on days when plain water didn’t stay down. It’s a simple electrolyte drink mix that adds sodium, potassium, and B vitamins to water so you can replenish what your body is losing and feel more stable; especially on tough days. (Personal favorite is the White Peach)

Birth & Labor Essentials

TENS 7000 Digital TENS Unit

Evidence shows that TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) is a non-invasive option used during labor that can help manage pain and increase comfort, with many people reporting they would choose to use it again even though results can vary. I used it in my own early labor, and I also use it with my clients in those early stages; it can help you stay grounded, cope with contractions, and keep moving while labor is building. It’s a simple tool you can start using at home before heading into your birth space.

The Birth Deck: 50 Ways to Comfort a Woman in Labor

Evidence shows that continuous labor support including hands-on comfort measures, verbal encouragement, and guided touch can reduce pain, lower intervention rates, and improve satisfaction with the birth experience. I use this deck with all of my clients’ partners. It gives non-birthing parents a clear, practical way to participate and support their person in labor in a doula-like way without needing all the technical knowledge. It helps them feel included, confident, and connected while offering meaningful comfort every step of the way and ensures that even first-time supporters can contribute effectively.

The Birth Deck: 50 Ways to Comfort a Woman in Labor

LaborGrip

Evidence shows that hands-on comfort techniques like counterpressure, which involves applying steady, supportive pressure, can reduce pain and improve comfort during labor. I have used this exact grip myself throughout labor and also offer to my own clients to use. It gives the birthing person a simple, practical way to squeeze and apply pressure through their own hands, helping manage intense contractions and stay grounded.

Levfla Pregnancy and Birth Affirmation Cards + Birthing Comb

Evidence shows that mind-body techniques like positive affirmations, deep breathing, and guided focus can reduce stress and anxiety in pregnancy and labor, helping the birthing person stay calm, grounded, and confident. I personally used these affirmation cards myself during labor, saying each affirmation with every contraction, which helped me stay centered and maintain focus through the later stages.

Paired with the birthing comb, which evidence shows works on the same principle as hands-on pressure techniques like counterpressure or acupressure to reduce labor pain, this combo gives both mental and physical tools to support the birthing person. Using the comb allows you to apply steady, focused pressure through your hands, helping manage the intensity of contractions while staying in control. I also offer this to my clients because it helps them navigate labor with confidence, providing a tangible, evidence-based way to support themselves throughout the process.

INPANY Peanut Ball

Evidence shows that using a peanut ball during labor can help improve pelvic positioning and may shorten the first stage of labor, especially for people with an epidural. Another study found that birthing people who used a peanut ball reported lower fatigue and pain scores and a more positive perception of childbirth compared with those who did not.

I personally used a peanut ball throughout my labor and also guide my clients on how to use it during the later stages. Placing it between the legs while on your side or during resting positions can help you stay comfortable, feel more in control, and support your body’s natural progression.

P.R.I Manuka Honey Sticks

Evidence shows that Manuka honey contains naturally occurring methylglyoxal (MGO), giving it stronger antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties than regular honey. I recommend and offer these to clients during labor because they provide a gentle, natural source of quick energy when the body is working hard and muscles are fatigued. The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties can also support the body in subtle ways during the intensity of labor, helping soothe tissues that may feel irritated from contractions or dryness in the mouth and throat. Many clients enjoy them straight from the stick or in a warm drink during long labor hours, and I’ve seen how having a small, portable, nourishing option can help birthing people feel a little more cared for, energized, and supported as they move through each stage of labor.

Postpartum Healing & Support

Rdiner Heavy Flow High Absorbency Underwear

Evidence shows that reusable period products like high-absorbency underwear are significantly more sustainable than disposable options, producing less waste and reducing environmental impact over time. I’ve personally used these postpartum and continue to use them during my periods because they give me freedom to move, sit, and rest without worrying about leaks. I never bled through, and I could wear them for hours at a time before needing to change them. The absorbent, moisture-wicking layers feel supportive without the bulk of pads, reduce irritation, and provide reliable coverage for heavy flow. Being washable and reusable, they’re an easy, sustainable choice that’s better for both your body and the environment while still handling heavy bleeding with confidence.

MegaFood Baby & Me 2 Postnatal Multi

Evidence shows that postpartum and breastfeeding place higher nutritional demands on a mother’s body than usual, and taking a postnatal multivitamin can help fill nutrient gaps while supporting both your health and your baby’s through breast milk. I personally included a postnatal multivitamin in my routine because the days after birth are nutrient-intensive, and I’ve found it helps me feel more energized and supported while healing and breastfeeding. This formula contains vitamins like C, D3, and E, along with choline for your baby’s brain development and moringa leaf, which is traditionally used to support milk production. It’s easy to take anytime, even on an empty stomach, making it simple to stay consistent during the busy postpartum weeks.

Bengkung Belly Binding Wrap

Reusable Perineal Cooling Pad

Evidence shows that using abdominal binders after delivery can reduce pain and symptom distress while improving mobility in the early postpartum period, especially after cesarean birth. I recommend this kind of belly binding wrap to clients because it feels like gentle support around your core as your body recovers, and I used it during my first pregnancy. Unlike a faja, which is more rigid and focused on shaping, the traditional Bengkung wrap offers flexible, 360‑degree support that can help you feel more held together, stand and move with less discomfort, and stay supported through those first weeks of healing.

Reusable Perineal Cooling Pad

Reusable Perineal Cooling Pad

Evidence shows that applying cold to the perineal area after childbirth can significantly reduce perineal pain in the first couple of days postpartum compared with no cooling, offering a non‑pharmacological way to ease soreness and swelling. A cooling pad helps numb pain and decrease inflammation right after birth when tissues are most tender, and having a reusable option means you don’t have to constantly replace single‑use packs. As things calm down after the first day or two, gentle heat can be comforting for stiffness, muscle tension, or when sitting feels tight; it promotes blood flow and helps tissues feel more relaxed. I recommend a dual‑purpose pad because it gives you both cooling relief when pain and swelling are at their peak and a soothing warmth later in your recovery.

Good Moms Have Scary Thoughts: A Healing Guide to the Secret Fears of New Mothers

Evidence shows that unwanted, intrusive thoughts related to infant care are extremely common in the postpartum period and do not mean a parent wants to harm their baby. This book made me feel not alone; I love how it’s written and how validating it is to know these thoughts are normal. It also offers practical ways to cope when they happen. I highly recommend it for any new parent who wants reassurance, understanding, and tools to help themselves in those intense moments.

Honey Lavender Perineal Balm

Evidence shows that perineal care with soothing topical treatments can reduce discomfort and support healing after childbirth. I used this balm myself when I was sore after birth, even though I didn’t tear, and it was incredibly soothing. The honey and lavender help moisturize and calm tender skin, providing comfort while your body recovers. I highly recommend it to clients not only for postpartum soreness but also as a gentle first aid option for minor irritation or skin discomfort.

Miscarriage Support

Comfytemp Weighted Heating Pad

Evidence shows that gentle heat can help reduce pain by relaxing muscles, increasing blood flow, and easing cramping; mechanisms that are especially helpful for uterine or abdominal cramps. I found this heating pad incredibly comforting during the miscarriages I’ve experienced. The warmth helped calm my belly and back muscles, easing the intense cramps and tension, and it still provides soothing relief whenever I have discomfort. I highly recommend it to clients because it offers a safe, gentle, and effective way to care for your body during these challenging moments.

Miscarriage Grief Journal

Evidence shows that processing loss and expressing emotions after pregnancy loss can be a meaningful part of healing, as many people experience intense grief, intrusive thoughts, and overwhelming emotions that are both common and deeply real. This journal became a place where I could put words to my pain, track my emotions over time, and give myself space to grieve without judgment. It validated that I was not alone in what I was going through and helped me acknowledge feelings I didn’t even realize I was carrying.

Mother's Ray Affirmation Cards for Miscarriage

Evidence shows that self‑affirmations; reflecting on your values, strengths, and core sense of self, are associated with improved emotional wellbeing, more positive affect, and more adaptive stress coping when facing difficult or threatening life experiences. I used these affirmation cards at times when the grief felt overwhelming, and the gentle, thoughtful prompts helped me pause, breathe, and remind myself who I am beyond the pain. They offered moments of comfort and clarity, helping me speak kindness to my heart when everything felt heavy.

Held in Hope: Miscarriage Kit

Evidence shows that first trimester miscarriage can bring intense grief, fear, and uncertainty, and having compassionate support makes a real difference. This kit is designed for losses before 13 weeks and provides everything you need to collect your baby at home ( a container, gloves, pads, and a peri bottle; along with comforting items like a letter to mom, grief journal, and guidance on burial. ) It held me through a moment that felt overwhelming, giving me a way to honor my baby, care for myself, and feel less alone during this deeply emotional experience.

Memorial Box for Pregnancy Loss

Evidence shows that memory‑making and keepsakes play a meaningful role in bereavement care by helping bereaved parents acknowledge their baby’s existence, preserve their identity as a parent, and foster a sense of connection and comfort after loss. This memorial box gives you a place to gently hold ultrasound photos, positive tests, letters, keepsakes, or any small mementos that are precious to you. For many of us, having tangible items to tend to and honor helps bridge the internal bond with your baby and provides a space to integrate your loss into your life with ongoing love and remembrance.

Organic Liquid Iron Supplement

Evidence shows that iron deficiency often follows significant blood loss, such as from a miscarriage, and supplementing with iron can help restore depleted stores, support energy, and improve recovery. I recommend this organic liquid iron because it’s gentle on the stomach, easy to absorb, and helped me regain strength and feel more like myself after my losses. Taking it gave my body the support it needed while healing from the physical toll of miscarriage, and I continue to rely on it whenever my iron feels low.

Some Babies Can't Stay

Evidence shows that children’s books about loss can help kids understand grief, express emotions, and support conversations within families in a gentle, developmentally appropriate way. I read this after it was recommended to me by a mom, and what really stayed with me is how she shared it didn’t just help her children, it helped her too. She described how it gave her young kids a way to understand and process their sibling’s loss, while also giving them something to hold onto in their grief. And honestly, I felt that myself, it’s beautifully written in a way that’s simple but deeply meaningful, and it creates space not just for children, but for parents to feel, process, and talk about something that can be so hard to put into words.

How to Carry What Can't Be Fixed: A Journal for Grief

Evidence shows that expressive writing can help people process loss, reduce emotional distress, and make sense of grief in a meaningful and supportive way. This journal gave me a place to honestly hold my feelings on paper when the weight of grief felt too heavy to carry alone. It is not about fixing anything but offers guided space to explore what you are feeling at your own pace, to say the things you do not always say out loud, and to reflect on your story as it unfolds. Writing in this journal helped me make sense of swirling thoughts and intense emotions in a way nothing else did and gave me a sense of active participation in my own healing, allowing me to carry what could not be fixed with a little more clarity and compassion.

Essential Oils Blend Set

Evidence shows that certain essential oils, when used in aromatherapy, can help reduce stress, support emotional wellbeing, and promote relaxation. I personally use this set when I find myself grieving my first baby with my husband. The sweet floral, fresh herbal, and vibrant fruity scents remind me of her and bring a sense of calm and comfort. Whether diffused, added to a bath, or massaged into the skin, it has become a gentle way to honor my emotions and create a peaceful space for reflection and remembrance.

Stillbirth But I Still Birthed

Evidence shows that reading personal narratives and stories about loss can help bereaved parents process grief, reduce feelings of isolation, and provide practical coping strategies. I read this book during my bereavement doula training, and it was unforgettable. Cherese Akers’ account of delivering her child stillborn is beautifully written and deeply moving. Her story not only shares the reality of grief but also illustrates how one can navigate tragedy, find purpose, and build a meaningful life afterward. The personal reflections and resources she provides give readers both understanding and hope, and it’s a book I continue to recommend for its honesty, compassion, and profound impact.
